| During the March Break, 5 of Creemores’ hockey teams hosted tournaments against teams from around Ontario. The Atom Local tournament, co-hosted by the two Atom Local teams became extremely memorable when both teams advanced to the finals, or the A Championship game. Creemore #2 won the game 2-0 over Creemore #1. Strath Metheral scored both goals for his team including the empty netter and Giffen Macvicar played great between the pipes to earn the shutout. The Pewee Local tournament turned out to be extremely entertaining to watch. Creemore advanced to the A Championships. This is a huge accomplishment for the team because their bench is stacked with call-ups, so the teams age ranged from 9 up to 13. Creemore played Guelph in the final, a team made mostly of 12 and 13 year olds. Creemore tried their hardest, but could not win the game and Guelph took the championship by a score of 4-1. Riley Kramers scored the lone goal for Creemore. An extremely special mention goes out to Matt Trace, Creemores goaltender. Trace stopped over thirty shots, some of which would have gone in on any other goalie. Thumbs up to Trace for his spectacular play. The Midget Rep team traveled to Baltimore, Ontario for their season ending tournament this weekend. The team came away as the Consolation Champoins with a 7-2 win against Ops. The Atom Local 1 team has advanced to the finals of their Georgian Bay
Triangle Local League Playoffs defeating Shelburne three games to one.
The first game saw Creemore win 1-0 with Riley Haines scoring in overtime.
The second game, despite Creemores best efforts, lost 2-0. In the third
game Creemore again won 1-0 with Kenney Baldwin-Hammel scoring the lone
goal late in the third. Creemore headed back to Shelburne for game 4 and
struggled penalty troubles. In the third period Jacob Clarmo, who was
on a 5 on 3 penelty kill pressured the Shelburne defence and scored shorthanded
with five minutes left in the game. The team would like to mention the
goalie from Shelburne, Jacob Hall, who played his heart out for his team
and came up big when he needed too.
